This Working grandfather clock is Chinoiserie in style, drawing its inspiration from the chinese style of painting nature and in particular, tropical birds, flowers and elaborate garden scenes, which was made popular in the west by trade goods brought back from the far east in the Georgian period. The designs are usually asymmetrical with skewed perspective and a painted in gold cream and red on a satin black ground.
This is just one of the several new pieces in this style to match the chinoiserie grand piano I already stock.
The clock works like a wrist watch mechanism and comes with battery installed. Should the battery need changing the clock face pushes out from the back.
