These washstands are fun pieces to add to any bedroom or bathroom scene. Washstands were the predecessors of the modern bathroom wash basin, or sink. They were in extensive use throughout a large part of the 18th century and early-19th century, eventually disappearing with the advent of modern indoor plumbing
The washstands all contain a jug and bowl, brush, hand mirror, pot and beaker with toothbrush and a slop bucket and pile of towels on the shelf below, and features a towel rail with matching towels on to the right hand side of the unit. The mahogany unit features a tiled top and splashback.
All the items on the unit were made, hand decorated and painted by me for the units and are fixed in position.
Measurements: 95mm high x 85mm wide x 35mm deep except the tall washstand which is 155mm high x 85mm wide x 40mm deep
