The new RUSTIC sink wall unit is the star piece in my new delft inspired kitchen range. It features a large sink base unit with ceramic sink, and two side cupboards in the base with delft tile tops and a back wall featuring three shelves, with black iron brackets, one packed with plates and the top one with stacks of china items.
I make this item and stain and varnish it (matt finish to look antique and waxed) then add the black iron effect detailing to the wood – including the cupboard doors with metal floral motif and black stringing, shelf brackets and towel rails on each side. I then make the plates to my own design applied to white china, before dressing the unit. This makes each dresser unique as no two are dressed the same as the mixture of plates and designs is different every time.
It also contains some dirty copper pans and utensils, some plates to be washed in the water in the sink and some washed plates and glasses waiting to be dried on the right of the sink.
The iron effect side-handled water pump is my own design, and to either side of it are dishes with bar of soap and sponge for washing the dishes with. Directly under the sink is an open cubby for cleaning and non food items.
This is part of my new RUSTIC kitchen range for 2023 and I will be adding more new pieces as I make them – see the kitchen section for the other pieces in the range.
