This NEW potting bench was inspired by both the garage workbench and my own love of gardening (when I have a mo!) – see separate listing for the garage workbench ‘Rusty and restoration ready’ vehicles! I have also created a carpenters workbench to add to the range and more will follow.
I make the the workbench to look ‘organic’ as if it was knocked up in a shed from parts of other bits of furniture that were lying around!
I am particularly proud of the potting bench as I make so much of it myself. When I first made them I started with a basic bare wood piece and built it up from that. However I now make the whole piece of furniture with a combination of printed parts and model makers strip wood. After building the workbench I 3D print all of the plant pots, seed trays, crates watering cans as well as customising the labeling on my regular cans an packets used on my other pieces. (I have added a picture in the gallery to show the majority of the 3D printed parts before painting and will be writing more about the process in the 3D printing blog soon)
The potting bench features a flowering shrub which has just been potted on into a larger pot, with a tray of cuttings waiting to be potted up, and smaller potted plant with a watering can to hand as well as a good sprinkling of spilt compost!
The rest of the bench is packed with pots, seed packets and various vintage chemicals and feeds.
Workbenches can be made to order dressed with products to match any scene – so get in touch if you would like to discuss a challenge!
