Making chandeliers and unusual light fittings is my new favourite thing to do at the moment, after I was commissioned to make a pair of chandeliers for a customer.
I had such a fantastic time making them I immediately made several more! I love the Meissen style of porcelain that these are based on, and am looking forward to doing a much larger one (12 or 24 arm?) soon – or rather as soon as I get the time! I just wish I had been making them when I was doing Featherstone Hall!
Each chandelier is individually made and each flower and leaf is hand applied, painted and gilded. This one is in pastel shades, and it has the classic Meissen chandelier element of suspended balls and drops of flowers hanging off the lower arms. It holds six candle style screw in bulbs, and is suspended by a chain from above.
They are painted in the same colours as the torcheres currently in stock to create a matched set of lighting, wall lights can also be made to order.
There are pictures of other chandeliers on the GALLERY, and if you would like to talk about a bespoke one please get in touch!
