This table is ideal for the kitchens of larger houses (or bakeries) and is packed both above and below! This patisserie version is more of a country house table with the head cook making fine pastries for the dessert course of a banquet!
A silver serving dish holds three finished cakes, a jelly is setting in a copper mold, and forest fruits are oozing in a dish ready to become a compote. A small bowl holds stiff cream which is being spread on chocolate pastry slices before a garnish of strawberry and a chocolate slice is added. A solid lump of chocolate has been turned into shavings and chocolate buns are in progress. The rest of the workspace is covered with bottles and jars of ingredients, utensils, chopping board and cloths to wipe up the spills! The shelf below is packed out with larger items – a crate, large food tins, and spare baking tins and pans.
