Eric and his little sister Claudette are the only dolls in my range I do not make myself, they are porcelain doll and Claudette entered the range after I created the first one to go in a room box project for DH&MS magazine of the impressionist painter Claude Monet’s kitchen from house in Giverney, France. (This was the follow up project to the dining room of his house – and both featured on the front covers of the magazine – see the Gallery page for pictures of both projects).
The little girl I created struck a chord with people – everyone ether knows or was a Claudette! Some time after her introduction I got asked if I could do a little boy version instead and eric was born (does this mean he is Claudettes younger brother?)
Eric is in his everyday clothes of checked shirt and twill trousers, although he has made an effort to not get messy and has a cloth tucked into his neck – although much good it has done him!
