Ella is one of my newest dolls and is leaning over a tin tub and washboard. The tub is full of water and wet clothes and one hand holds some wet fabric while the other rests on the washboard.
She wears a brown dress with lace collar, and a cream striped apron. she is completely free standing and does not require additional support.
If she stood upright she is around 145/150mm/51/2 to 6in tall, but is fixed in her bent position, there is a little movement in her arms so that she can be positioned against the washboard and holding the wet fabric.
I have made, painted, wigged and dressed this doll – Because of this, no two are exactly alike – they all have their own characters and quirky features!
Ella joins the rest of my new ‘downstairs ladies’ also pictured – Peggy with laundry basket, Margaret Ironing, and Dolly the grumpy mop lady.
