This grand piano is decorated in the chinoiserie style that would have been popular from the mid 18th century through to the mid 19th century. It is hand painted with chinese scenes of pagodas, bridges, trees and fishing boats, as it typical of the style, the interior of the case is red with black and gold painted details in the same style as the exterior.
The matching stool is decorated in the same way opening to show a red interior and sheet music.
More sheet music is on the stand over the (shaped) keyboard. there are brass pedals on the lyre and the lid is propped open by a folding brass rod. Inside the body of the piano strings are replicated on a gold section with gold wires running down its length.
Each one of these is unique as I never paint them the same twice!
