This is a ‘Stanley Steamer’ which has seen better days and is in the workshop for some much needed repairs and restoration! The model of the original car launched in 1906, with the Stanley car company going out of business in 1926.
It is a cast metal model originally sold as a collectable and so is incredibly detailed and quite heavy. For example the bonnet/hood opens to show the boiler and workings of this steam powered car. I have then aged and rusted it, the bonnet is pinned open with loose wheel, tools, toolbox, bowl of oil and separate jack. A light and horn lay (loose) on the front seat awaiting their turn with the polish!
